Heaths & Heathers

The Building of a Display Garden

To the left is the raw land.  Below you see the second of two raised beds that have been formed.  This bed will contain about 300 plants.

We brought in 15 yards of local peat, sand and composted dairy bedding of
alder sawdust and manure for two planting beds.

To the left we have the miniature corner at the tip of the bed.  This has Erica x williamsii 'Gold Button', Calluna vulgaris 'Foxii Nana', 'John F. Letts', 'Sister Anne', 'Soay', and Erica tetralix 'Delta'.

Below, the gold is 'John F. Letts' and the silver is 'Sister Anne' in July of 2007.  See, they do grow up!
